Two years ago this weekend, I decided to formalise my sling library volunteering and get my consultancy training started! What a difference two years makes.
Since April 2015, Wear-a-Bye Baby became my own, I opened two library locations in two boroughs, launched The Wrap Show with Kathleen, and am about to launch ISRU with Azizah. I’ve travelled all over West, North West, and South West London to teach carers of newborns through toddlers how to carry on front and back, rented hundreds of carriers at library sessions, and bought a few dozen more. I’ve grown my structured carrier understanding, on-boarded two peer supporters, and worked to get out into the community with Children’s Centres. I’ve been to conferences and networked at domestic and international meets. I also had a HG pregnancy and an adorable baby!
Wow! What’s next? I’ve started to expand my toddler carrier selection and retail range. I’m continuously looking for a new venue and working to improve my DIY rental system with Paul. I also keep an eye towards to carriers entering the UK market and try to get testers here!
I’m really enjoying the process of helping carers find freedom and keep their baby close. I don’t know where we’ll be in two years time yet, but I’m excited to watch this grow and see where this hobby takes us! Thanks for joining the ride – always happy to brainstorm what’s next.
