Welcome to 2018! It’s been a whirlwind start here at Wear-a-Bye Baby headquarters, as we just moved home over the weekend. Where oh where do I put all the slings?
With a fresh start to the year, it’s time to make some big changes. After running a sling library for over 3 years, it’s time for me to close that chapter. It’s a heart-wrenching decision since this is something I’ve been doing with Isaac since he was 4 months old! He knows how to demo a Caboo and loves entertaining all the babies who come in. Volunteering is important and I hope to continue to instil this value by wearing my other hat as a breastfeeding peer supporter. However, the library never became what I really wanted – a community. While I have enjoyed immensely working with parents in all stages of babyhood, I’m more passionate about longer connections and not at all passionate with all the admin (which I wrap up today!).
So, the library will close! I am still excited to help you with 1-on-1 consults, especially with newborns and any wrapping help at all stages – these are still my passions. I’m also working on creating a social gathering, so watch this space as I continue to make changes into the new year.
Thank you to everyone who has come out to the library sessions over the years. A huge thank you to Little People of Fulham Nursery for hosting us on Monday mornings for nearly 2 years. And a final huge thanks to my family for supporting me through some really hectic times as a new family who were figuring out life in a new city all simultaneously.
Sling libraries are still available in the area, such as Sheen Slings, Central London Sling Library in Notting Hill, Chiswick Sling Library, and North London Sling Library in Bloomsbury.
Happiest of wearing!
